The final steel beam, which was signed by students and staff earlier this week, was hoisted into place as members of the Miller band played.
Later, attendees toured the building, which includes flexible spaces, natural light, and outdoor learning areas. The building is scheduled to be completed this August and be ready for students at the start of the 2024/25 school year. A grand opening will be held for the public in early fall.
The Miller Middle School band played "Smoke on the Water".
Board members, Principal Norman and and representatives from Cunningham architects and Bryan Construction were on hand to share the special moment.
