This project embodies the Portrait of a Graduate principles of being an Agile Thinker as the students chose topics about which they were curious to focus upon for the museum and wrapped them around the idea of memorializing the topic and avoiding trivialization to show a growth mindset.
Students were also Empathetic Collaborators as they worked together throughout the unit to share questions, ideas, discussion materials and show compassion for the survivors and victims of these tragic events.
Ultimately, students focused on how we might prevent future genocides from occurring and what leads humans to behave in such a way that something as appalling as mass murder of a specific people is allowed to repeatedly occur.
