Bullying

Bullying will not be tolerated at Miller Middle School.  A person is being bullied or victimized when they are exposed, repeatedly, to negative actions on the part of one or more persons.  Bullying can include any of the following: physical, social, and/or verbal aggression, intimidation, written aggression, sexual harassment, and racial or cultural harassment.  Direct bullying is face-to-face interactions, which include physical or verbal attacks, threatening or intimidating gestures.  Indirect bullying requires a third party and is often more subtle, and includes social isolation, rumor spreading, and a scapegoat.  The key to effectively dealing with bullies is communication.  If your child is unhappy at school or arrives home upset, it could be a result of being bullied.  If you have any indication that your child is being bullied, please contact us immediately.  Here are a few web sites that provide help, information, and resources on bullying.
